Postpartum Anxiety
Many new parents feel anxious, but sometimes that worry grows until it feels like your nervous system is always on alert. Postpartum anxiety isn’t a sign you’re “broken” or “bad at this.” It’s your body’s alarm system trying, sometimes too hard, to keep you and your baby safe.
In therapy, I’ll help you to see anxiety as a signal, not a flaw. Rather than fighting or suppressing your anxiety, we gently explore the feelings and needs underneath it. Often, beneath the racing thoughts and tension lie powerful emotions like fear, sadness, shame, or longing for support. When these feelings are allowed, honored, and felt, the nervous system can settle. Together, we slow down, notice what’s happening in your body, and help you reconnect with your natural resilience. As these emotions are processed, self-compassion grows and anxiety loses its grip.
If you’re navigating postpartum anxiety, know that support is available and healing is possible. With the right care, the same sensitivity that now feels overwhelming can become a source of deeper connection with yourself, your baby, and those you love.
